What is preventive care?

Routine healthcare that includes screenings such as Pap smears and mammograms, check-ups (including immunizations), and patient counseling to prevent illnesses, disease, or other health problems. Under the Affordable Care Act, certain preventive services are covered at no additional cost to insured patients. Also referred to as “preventive services.”
