What is modified adjusted gross income?
The figure that is used to determine your eligibility for ACA, Medicaid, and CHIP premium tax credits and subsidies. MAGI is adjusted gross income plus untaxed foreign income, non-taxable Social Security benefits and/or tax-exempt interest. For many people, the MAGI value is the same as their AGI value. MAGI does not appear as a line on tax returns.
